Levittown Community Action Coalition Receives National Substance Misuse Prevention Award, Named Blue Ribbon Coalition

Levittown Community Action Coalition (LCAC) received the Coalition of Excellence Award for Coalition in Focus category] from CADCA (Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America), the nation’s leading substance use and misuse prevention organization. The Coalition of Excellence award is part of CADCA’s Got Outcomes! award program, which gives national recognition to exemplary coalitions that have clearly documented their impact on population-level substance abuse outcomes. 

LCAC also received the 2021 Blue Ribbon recognition presented by CADCA’s Got Outcomes program. This credential is awarded to high-performing coalitions that do an exceptional job creating a foundation for their work and developing comprehensive plans.

These prestigious awards were provided to LCAC on Feb. 3 during CADCA’s 2022 National Leadership Forum at the Gaylord National Hotel and Convention Center in National Harbor, Maryland. 

“We are extremely honored to receive the Coalition in Focus award.  This recognition for our coalitions hard work motivates us to continue to make a difference in the health and wellness of our community,” said Janet Lombardo, previous LCAC Project Coordinator.

To achieve success, coalitions have to determine effective solutions to substance abuse in their community. “The Levittown Community Action Coalition’s commitment to prevention in their community and the milestones that have been achieved is exemplary!  LCAC’s successful framework and practices serve as a model for coalitions across New York State.  The demonstrated leadership and teamwork of its members is the true essence of a coalition,” said Adrienne LoPresti, Executive Director, YES Community Counseling Center.

LCAC clearly embraced the CADCA model of prevention and their commitment has led to positive sustainable outcomes within their community. Our CADCA Got Outcomes! winners exemplify the excellent work that coalitions are doing around the country to prevent and reduce substance use and misuse in their communities,” said General Barrye L. Price, CADCA’s President and CEO.
