LEVITTOWN COMMUNITY ACTION COALITION (LCAC)

Founded in 2015, LCAC works together with dedicated individuals and entities from the Levittown community to reduce substance misuse through education, awareness, and empowerment. Members of the coalition include representatives from our schools, youth, law enforcement, media, hospitals, libraries, substance abuse treatment agencies, civic groups, businesses, religious organizations, state and local agencies, and other organizations involved in substance abuse prevention.

Throughout the year, LCAC partakes in community events to provide education on substance use and the related risk and protective factors associated with it. LCAC hopes to enhance the skills of community leaders through evidence-based programs and to empower our youth.

LCAC Hosts Spring Drug Take Back Event

In observance of the DEA's National Prescription Drug Take Back Day, Levittown Community Action Coalition helped to remove 265 lbs of medication from the Levittown area.

Levittown Y.O.U.T.H. Educates Island Trees Middle School Students on the Prevention of Substance Use in High School

This May, the Levittown Young Organizers United to Help (LYOUTH) joined efforts to educate their peers in the Levittown and Island Trees School Districts on mental health and the prevention of substance use.

LCAC and MTAC Collaborate with Massapequa PAL And Dek Superstars to Promote Substance-Free Sporting Events

Massapequa Takes Action Coalition (MTAC) and Levittown Community Action Coalition (LCAC) worked together with Massapequa Police Activity League (PAL) and Dek Superstars to develop signage on maintaining a substance-free sports arena.
