TIPS Training for Businesses
LCAC supports Levittown businesses and their employees that serve or sell alcohol by hosting free TIPS Training, a skills-based training designed to prevent intoxication, drunk driving and underage drinking. TIPS (Training for Intervention ProcedureS) is the global leader in education and training for the responsible service, sale, and consumption of alcohol and is an approved alcohol training awareness program by the New York State Liquor Authority. The training is part of LCAC’s Drug-Free Communities Grant initiatives to reduce underage drinking, intoxication, and drunk driving.
Whether you operate an Off-Premises business (convenience store, grocery store, liquor store, etc.) or an On-Premises business (bar, restaurant, etc.), the innovative training enhances the fundamental “people skills" of servers, sellers and consumers of alcohol. The free training, delivered by YES Community Counseling Center (YESCCC), provides the knowledge and confidence to recognize potential alcohol-related problems and effectively intervene to prevent alcohol-related tragedies and reduce underage drinking.
Businesses and organizations that obtain TIPS Certification benefit immediately by lowering risk and creating a safer, more responsible work environment. In addition, TIPS training can:
- Reduce exposure to alcohol liability lawsuits and reduce penalties for alcohol violations
- Lower insurance premiums
- Improve customer service and satisfaction
- Promote community safety
