The challenges associated with the world we live in today create tremendous demands on all of our time. Because of this, it’s incredibly difficult to take on more responsibilities with each passing day. However, it is critically important for individuals within a community to stand up and be counted among those who wish to be a part of the solution to today’s problems.
By being a member of the Levittown Community Action Coalition (LCAC), you can play an active role in helping to keep our community strong. Our primary focus is working together to prevent substance misuse and promote healthy living. Our strategies are to increase awareness and engage the community in managing medications for themselves and their families; provide education regarding the negative impact and influence of substance misuse; and enhancing the skills of community leaders, parents, educators, and our youth through training in evidence-based practices and programs that are proven to be effective in reducing the early onset of substance use. We can only achieve these goals through the efforts of volunteers like you.
As Coretta Scott King once said, “The greatness of a community is most accurately measured by the compassionate actions of its members.” By joining our Levittown team, you’re joining a movement to build a healthy, drug-free community and empower youth to reject drugs so they can reach their full potential.
Nothing gets done by one person alone, which means we have to band together to make the changes we want to see in the world. Volunteering your time, skills and resources is one of the most powerful ways to make a difference, to help others, and as it turns out, to enhance your well-being. We encourage all community members to join together in this cause to improve the future of the Levittown Community.
