LCAC’s Culture of Collaboration with the Levittown and Island Trees Public Schools and the community includes prevention education aimed at reducing underage drinking and substance misuse.
LCAC Youth Action Subcommittee Initiatives collaborated in a school awareness campaign to help students influence their peers to make better choices surrounding vaping, underage drinking and substance abuse. The PSA is featured in Island Trees and Levittown School districts during the school day.
Active Parenting Programs are provided throughout the year at Levittown Public Library for parents to help improve communication with their children; teach responsibility and other important values, and handle problems as they come up.
Too Good for Drugs and Violence After-School Program is implemented in Island Trees elementary school delivered by dedicated health teachers and student volunteers to help students develop coping skills, build self-esteem, and enhance mental, physical, and emotional helath while having fun!
Teen Intervene is an evidence-based curriculum administered by Levittown social workers in partnership with YES Community Counseling Center, it is also implemented in all Island Trees middle and high schools. It focuses on building a healthy foundation for youth to make healthy choices.
